Position Summary:
The Development Associate will occupy a key role in an expanding development department (currently 3 full time, soon to be 5 full time). He or she will be primarily responsible for entering and tracking gifts in our Raiser's Edge database, and will also work closely with members of program staff and the senior leadership of the organization. Applicants should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment which also values personal development and work-life balance. Experience working in the social justice or Jewish field is a plus, but not a requirement. Being Jewish is not a pre-requisite. Qualifications:
· Proficiency in MS Word and general computer literacy required; IT skills a plus
· 1-2 years of experience with Raiser's Edge
· Ability to work well under pressure, to meet deadlines
· Detail-oriented
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Sense of humor and enthusiasm
· Good phone manner
Major Responsibilities of the Development Associate position:
· Responsible for processing all donor contributions with Raiser's Edge software and sending acknowledgement letters
· Generate Raiser's Edge lists and reports as needed
· Coordinate direct mail appeals (2-3 times per year) and other benefits for our donors $1- $4,999
· Reconcile bank deposits with Raiser's Edge gift records
· Assist in coordination of fundraising events
· Research foundations or major donors leads as needed
· Work closely with VP of External Relations and Development Director

Additional Responsibilities of the Development Associate position::
· Respond to donors' requests for information
· Assist in creation and editing of appeal letters and thank you letters
· Take part in strategy and planning for the development department

Salary: commensurate with experience
